The steam powered self-unloading bulk carrier Silverdale is seen in this photograph as she was transiting upbound in the Welland Canal during the morning hours of June 25th, 1978. At the time it was taken she was sailing southbound in the canal above lock 7 and she was approaching bridge 10 in Thorold, Ontario, Canada. Photograph by Gordon Turner
