The former US Knox Class frigate Thrace (F457) (ex US FF 1075 USS Trippe) is seen in this photograph while she was underway off Portsmouth, England on March 23rd, 1998. She and her sisterships Epirus (F456) (ex US FF 1056 USS Connole) and Makedonia (F458) (ex US FF 1068 USS Vreeland) continue to serve in the Greek Navy today.

All were built at the Avondale Shipyard in the United States during the late 1960s.
Epirus laid down - 23.03.1967, launched - 20.07.1968, commissioned - 20.08.1969, commissioned Greek - 30.08.1992
Thrace laid down - 29.07.1968, launched - 1.11.1969, commissioned - 19.09.1970, commissioned Greek - 30.07.1992
Makedonia laid down - 20.03.1968, launched - 14.06.1969, commissioned - 13.06.1970, commissioned Greek - 25.07.1992
