The large anchor handling/offshore tug Pacific Standard is seen in this photograph while transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the early afternoon hours of June 13th, 1998. At the time it was taken she was sailing northbound in the canal below lock 1 destined for Hamilton, Ontario, the home port of McKeil Marine Ltd., her owners.

She was built in 1967 at the Cochrane & Sons Ltd. drydock in Selby, England, and she entered service unber the name Irishman. In 1976 she was renamed Kwakwani and in 1978 the name lorna B was applied. In 1981 the name Pacific Standard was applied and at the time this picture was added to the archives she was still operational as such.
