The tug Ruby and barge Milwaukee are seen in this photograph transiting upbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of May 20th, 2001. At the time it was taken they were sailing southbound in the canal above lock 7 and were approaching the location of Thorold's former guard gate. They were enroute from Rochester to Buffalo with dredged mud.

The barge Milwaukee is seen in this old photograph as she originally appeared likely before World War II. At the time it was taken she was placing large boulders alongside a breakwall somewhere. Any ideas??? Thanks to Jason LaDue for finding this photograph of her in the Great Lakes Historical Collections at the Bowling Green State University.
