The ocean going tug Avenger IV is seen in this photograph as she was transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the early afternoon hours of July 16, 1989. At the time is was taken she was halfway between bridge 11 in Allanburg and bridge 10 in Thorold secured to the stern of the former Canada Steamship Lines steamer Georgian Bay which was being towed down the canal for eventual delivery to Aliaga, Turkey for scrapping.
