The bulk carrier Windoc is seen in this photograph aground on the shores of the Welland Canal north of bridge 11 in Alanburg the morning after the bridge struck the ship. This profile view of the ship's stern shows extent of the damage suffered by the wheelhouse and smokestack. The stack had rolled 270 degrees and ended up on the aft deck as shown. Just after the accident the boiler which was once housed inside the stack itself was thrown over the stern into the canal.
