Charles Dick - Canada

The remains of the 1922-built self-unloading sandsucker Charles Dick are seen in this photograph lying at the Dwor Metals scrapyard in Port Colborne during the spring of 1977. The ship had been retired during 1976 and consigned to the scrapyard in a time when Great Lakes ships were being sold for dismantling at a staggering rate.. By the summer of 1977 Charles Dick was all but a memory..
