Tarantau - being scrapped

The former Canada Steamship Lines self unloader Tarantau is seen in this photograph lying at the International Marine Salvage scrapyard in Port Colborne during the morning hours of April 1st, 2001. At this point her engines were gone, as was most of her engine room machinery and structure. #5 cargo hold was also cut wide open. Her hatches and hatch covers were gone and cutting had begun on her #5 port side tanks.
