Roy A. Jodrey - Canada

The self unloading bulk carrier Roy A. Jodrey is seen in this photograph as she was sailing soutbound on Lake Ontario during the early afternoon hours of June 18th, 1971. She was approaching the entrance of the Welland Canal at Port Weller. Photograph by Gordon Turner.

On November 18th, 1974, she ran aground on Pullman Shoal in the Thousands Islands area of the western St. Lawrence Seaway and sank shortly thereafter. She was enroute from Seven Islands, Quebec to Detroit with a load of iron ore pellets. She was later found to be resting on her side in 190 feet of water and salvage was never attempted.
