The 1976-built, 16,929-dwt, 10,302-grt bulk carrier World Hercules is seen in this photograph while she was underway at Seattle, Washington during June of 1978. Photograph by Ray Thorsteinson.

She was built Sedota, Japan by the Naikai Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. for Mitsui O.S.K., Japan as World Hercules. In 1981 she was sold to Daichi Chuo, Japan and renamed Canal Ace and in 1990 she became Consensus Moon for Nordenfjeldske, Norway. In 1992 she was purchased by Yantai Marine Shipping of China and they applied the name Guang Fu Quan. In 1995 she was sold or transferred to the Shandong Yantai International Marine Shipping Copmany, also of China however her name was unchanged. When this picture was added to the archives in 12/2002 she was still listed as operational as Guang Fu Quan.
