The bulk carrier Tatiana L is seen in this photograph while she was transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of a day in late November 1990. At the time it was taken she was sailing northbound in the canal destined for the Atlantic Ocean with a cargo of wheat from Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Construction of this ship was ordered in April of 1974 by the Ceres Hellenic Shipping Company of Greece at the Hakodate Dockyard in Japan. This ship was one of many similar vessels that were built for Ceres Hellenic during the mid 1970s. In December of 1974 this ship's keel was laid and in April of 1975 the nearly completed ship was launched. In June of that year she set out from Japan to begin service at Tatiana L. Since then she has sailed as (a) Tatiana L (1/95) Greece, (b) Happy Day (6/99) Cyprus and when this photograph was added to the archives she was still operational as (c) Lucky Lady under the Cypriot flag for Maryville Maritime Inc. of Greece.
