She was built in Kobe, Japan by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. for the Taiwan Navigation Company as Tai Sun and she entered service during February of 1969. It seems that she sailed for her entire career for the Taiwan Navigation Company under this name and it was not until 1986 that her first, and last sale transpired. During the spring of 1986 Tai Sun and her fleetmate Tai Ning were sold to the Chih. I. Enterprise Company Ltd. in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and they were both delivered to their scrapyard before June 11th. In the months that followed they were dismantled and their steel was shipped away for recycling.
