The 1998-built, 107,260-dwt, 57,950-grt, crude oil tanker Sanko Trader is seen in this photograph while she was underway at Calshot, England on December 3rd, 2000. Photograph by Douglas Cromby

She was built in Mihara, Japan by the Koyo Dockyard Co. Ltd. as their hull number 2087. Under the name Sanko Trader she entered service during October of 1998 for Shoei Kisen Kaisha K.K. (Joint Stock Company), Japan. In May of 2001 she was sold to Bahamas Spirit LLC, renamed Bahamas Spirit and placed under the management of the Teekay Shipping Corporation, Canada. When this picture was added to the archives in 12/2002 she was still operational for them as Bahamas Spirit with Nassau, Bahamas registry.
