for information about purchasing copies of these pictures
The 1975-built bulk carrier Pollux is seen in this photograph as she was transiting
downbound in the Welland Canal during the late afternoon hours of October 19th, 1986. She
was approaching the Homer Bridge after having just departed from lock 3 in St. Catharines,
She sailed originally as Boujniba and was renamed Pollux in 1986, shortly
before this picture was taken. In 1987 her name was extended to Pollux I and she
carried that name for the remainder of her career. On September 9th, 2001 she arrived
at Chittagong, Bangladesh where scrapping of the 26 year old ship was undertaken.
