The 1977/78-built, 5,179-dwt, 3,085-grt, refrigerated cargo carrier Okba Bnou Nafia is seen in this photograph while she was underway off Terneuzen, Holland on May 29, 2002. Photo by Douglas Cromby.

She was built in Saiki, Japan by Honda Zosen for Donan Sekiyu K.K. (Donan Oil Co. Ltd., Japan) as Akizuki Maru. She was their hull number 655 and she enteres service during July of 1978 under the management of Kyoei Kaiun K.K., Japan. She sailed under this name until September of 1985 when she was sold to Compagnie de Transport Maritime S.A. (COTRAMA) and renamed Okba Bnou Nafia. When this picture was added to the archives in 12/2002 she was still operational as such under the management of Societe Marocaine de Navigation Maritime S.A. (NAVIMAR).
