The 1966-built, 22,640-dwt, 15,090-grt, oil tanker Novotsak 1 is seen in this photograph while she was underway in the St. Lawrence Seaway on August 19th, 1995. It was taken just before the ship was sold for scrapping.

She was built in Rijeka, in the former Yugoslavia by R.O. Brodogradiliste "3 Maj" as General Kravtzov. She sailed as such until 1990 when she was purchased by the Crisana Shipping Company and renamed Novotsak 1. The Novorossiysk Shipping Company continued to operate the ship after her renaming. She was retired late in 1995 and was subsequently sold to Hindustan Steel Industries in India for around $1.4 million (US). On January 9th, 1996 she arrived at their yard where she ran herself aground. 10 days later crews began cutting her up for scrap.
