Norviken - Nassau, Bahamas

The 1990-built, 18,435-dwt, 13,651-grt, general cargo and container carrier Norviken is seen in this photograph while she was underway at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 2nd, 1996.

She was built in Warnemuende, East Germany by the VEB Warnowwerft Warnemuende shipyard as Moraca for Prekookeanske Plovidba of Yugoslavia. In the time since her construction she has sailed as Moraca under the Yugoslavian flag until June of 1992 then under the flag of Malta until June of 1995, Norviken (97), Lim (99) and when this photograph was added to the archives in September of 2002 she was still listed as operational under the name Tekeze for Ethiopian Shipping Lines of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
