She was built in Warnemuende, Germany by VEB Warnowwerft Warnemuende as Karen Reed. Through her career she sailed as Karen Reed (73), Nortrans Karen (78), Karen Reed (80), Polnord (88) and Senicoli Sierra. After sailing the world's oceans for 25 years she finally reached the end of her usefullness in the summer of 1998. Medallion Oceanways Inc. (Euroleader Shipping & Trading Corp.) of St. Vincent & the Grenadines sold the ship to Indian breakers and she arrived off Alang on August 20th, 1998. She was subsequently beached and reduced to scrap.
