Nortrans Elma - Panama

The 1976-built, 120,640-dwt, 58,269-grt, iron ore strengthened bulk carrier Nortrans Elma is seen in this photograph while she was underway at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on October 18th, 1982.

She was built in Ichihara, Japan by the Mitsui Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. as Nortrans Elma for Naess Shipping, Holland. She later operated for the Saga Bulk Ltd. Corporation, Panama under the same name. Since her construction she has sailed as Nortrans Elma (87), Lika (00) and when this picture was added to the archives in September of 2002 she was still listed as operational as Zaira for Overseas Marine Enterprises, Greece under the flag of St. Vincent.
