Nirvana - Limassol, Cyprus

The 1975-built, 35,529-dwt, 20,797-grt bulk carrier Nirvana is seen in this photograph while she was underway in the harbour at Tilbury, England on February 1st, 1996.

She was built in Japan by the Osaka Shipbuilding Company and sailed as Romandie until February of 1993 when she was sold to Oar MAritime Ltd., and renamed Nirvana. During November of 2000 she was sold to Chinese ship breakers for a reported $1.32 million (US) and later dismantled. Photograph courtesy Willem VanMaanen's collection.
