Ning Hai - China

The 1981-built, 25,667-dwt, 16,473-grt iron ore strengthened, ice class bulk carrier Ning Hai is seen in this photograph while she was lying at anchor at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on March 18th, 1992.

She was built in China at the Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard and sailed for her entire career as Ning Hai. On November 2nd, 1996 while she was on a voyage from Japan to Western Canada she grounded on the reefs of the Russian island of Ketoy in the Kuril Islands region.
