Nautilus - Limassol, Cyprus

The 1970-built, 26,995-dwt, bulk carrier, Nautilus is seen in this photograph while she was transiting upbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of November 14th, 1984. She had just exitted from lock 2 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and was destined for the upper Great Lakes to load grain.

She was built in Japan and sailed previously as Kasuga Maru (75), Pacific Sincere (78> and Akritas until 1981. The name Nautilus was applied year and she operated for 10 years as such. In August of 1991 she was sold and renamed Trust V and re-flagged to Malta. She was sold for scrap during the autumn of 1996 and she arrived in India in October where she was later dismantled.
