The general cargo /container ship Zoella Lykes is seen in this photograph while underway at Durban, South Africa during December of 1981. Photograph courtesy Kevin Moore - Willem VanMaanen's collection

This ship was built in the United States and entered service during July of 1960 as (a) Zoella Lykes. She sailed for 32 years under this name before being renames (b) Fred G in July of 1992. It is not known whether she traded under this name but it wouldn't have been for long even if she did. Early in 1995 she was sold for scrapping and on April 4th she arrived and anchored off Alang, India. On April 18th, she was finally run aground on the beach where she was subsequently cut up for scrap.
