The general cargo / container ship Lykes Winner is seen in this photograph while underway in the St. Lawrence Seaway east of the St. Lambert lock. It was taken during October of 2000 as she was heading for Hamilton, Ontario. Photograph by Willem VanMaanen

Construction of this ship was ordered in Germany during October of 1987. A few years later during July of 1990 the ship was launched but she did not enter service until 1992. She finally did so under the name Yevgeniy Mravinskiy flying the Russian flag. She has sailed under these names and flags through her career so far. (a) Yevgeniy Mravinskiy Russia (1.96), (b) Marcela R Liberia (12.96), (c) Alioth Star Liberia (5.97), (d) Global Hawk Liberia (2.98) , (e) Global Hawk Saint Vincent (6.98), (f) Nordana Kampala Cyprus (3.99), (g) Cobra Cyprus (7.99) , (h) Thorshope Cyprus (9.24.2000) and when this picture was added to the archives she was still operational as (i) Lykes Winner
