The container ship Lykes Achiever is seen in this photograph while underway at Felixtowe, England during October of 2000. Photograph by Malcolm Peel and courtesy of Willem VanMaanen's collection

Construction of this ship was ordered in December of 1994 and building started in Poland during December of 1996. The nearly completed ship was launched in June 28, 1997 and she finally entered service during September of that year as Westerburg. At that time she flew the flag of Germany. She has sailed as (a) Westerburg Germany (97), (b) Maersk La Plata Germany (12.98) and when this picture was added to the archives she was operational under her third name (c) Lykes Achiever still flying the the German flag.
