This ship was built in the United States and entered service in 1964 as Gulf Banker. For her entire career under the ownership of Lykes Lines she bore this name. During the mid 1980s she was sold out of the fleet and became part of the United States Maritime Commission's reserve fleet. She was still being maintained in reserve when this picture was added to the photograph archives.
