The chemical tanker Lake Anne is seen in this photograph while transiting upbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of a day in April of 1986. At the time it was taken she was sailing southbound in the canal south of lock 3 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada destined for Sarnia to discharge her cargo. Photograph by Willem VanMaanen

This tanker was built in Yugoslavia and entered service during January of 1982 as (a) Lake Anne. While under this name she flew the flags of both Norway and Singapore. In August of 1990 she was sold and renamed (b) Jo Elm and reflagged to the Netherlands Antilles. This changed to the Netherlands in April of 1996 then back to Norway in November of 1998. Through these re-flaggings her name remained unchanged. When this picture was added to the archives she was still reported as operational as Jo Elm.
