The bulk carrier Lago Maracaibo is seen in this photograph transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the late morning hours of October 21, 1979. At the time it was taken she was sailing northbound in the canal north of lock 8 in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada destined for the Atlantic Ocean loaded with grain. Photograph by Dave Kohl

Built in England in 1969 as (a) Lawrentian (77), (b) Lago Maracaibo (81), (c) Capetan Michalis (86) and (d) Sangita. On February 10, 1994 Sangita arrived in Alang, India where she was later dismantled.
