The bulker Julienas is seen in this photograph while transiting downbound in the Welland Canal during the afternoon hours of a day in October of 1980. At the time it was taken she was sailing northbound in the canal at Port Weller harbour and she was about to exit the Canal and enter on Lake Ontario enroute for Europe with North American grain. This ship was built in Norway and entered service during March of 1967 as (a) Estrid under the flag of Denmark. In 1974 she was renamed (b) Torm Estrid and in 1977 another sale saw her name change to (c) Julienas and her flag change to Singapore. In 1980 she was sold, renamed (d) Yagotin and re-registered in the U.S.S.R. After 5 years of service under this name she was sold for scrapping and she departed Mizushima, Japan on her last voyage on September 16, 1986. Yagotin arrived at Xiamen, China during October and shortly thereafter crews began cutting her up for scrap.
