The bulk & container vessel John M is seen in this photograph while transiting upbound in the Welland Canal during the evening hours of a day in July of 1985. At the time it was taken she was sailing southbound on Lake Ontario and was about to enter the canal harbour at Port Weller in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Photograph by Willem VanMaanen

This ship was built in West Germany and entered service during December of 1983 as (a) John M. She has sailed under the following names and flags since then. (a) John M Germany (7/88), (b) Holcan Rijn Antigua (7/89), (c) Norasia Adria Antigua (5/92), (d) John M Antigua (8/93), (e) Norasia Arabia Antigua (6/94), (f) Sea Venture Antigua (6/95), (g) Mile One Germany (6/96), (h) Vento del Golfo Antigua (3/98) then German flag until (8/98) and (i) Cabot Strait under the German flag. When this picture was added to the archives she was still reported as operational under this latest name.
