The 1973-built, 15,216-dwt, 11,956-grt general cargo ship Forthbank is seen in this photograph while she was underway possibly in Holland sometime during 1984. Photograph courtesy Willem VanMaanen's collection.

She was built in Hebburn, England by the Hebburn Shipyard of Swan, Hunter Shipbuilders Ltd., for Andrew Weir & Company Ltd., United Kingdom. She was launched during May of 1973 and she entered service during November of that year as Forthbank. She ended up sailing for most of her career under this name and it was not until May of 2000 that she was finally sold to Pacific Jewel Shipping Ltd., Vanuatu and renamed Pacific Emerald. Service under this name would prove to be short though. During August of 2002 she was delivered to ship breakers in Bangadesh where she was quickly reduced to scrap.
