* 19 February 1978 Fides Orient was abandoned by her crew in a position 12.25 N, 121.02E after developing hull cracks
* 20 February 1978 she was beached to prevent sinking
* 23 February 1978 she was refloated however it is not known whether temporary repairs were done beforehand
* 25 February 1978 Fides Orient arrived at Minila, Philipines under tow
* It was later determined that she had suffered damage that was beyond economical repair and she was temporarily laid up presumably in Manila
* 28 August 1979 Fides Orient departed Manila under tow bound for Kaohsiung, Taiwan
* 3 September 1979 she arrived at the scrapyard in Kaohsiung where she was later dismantled - The identity of the scrapyard is unknown
