The bulk carrier Bernhard Oldendorff is seen in this photograph while underway likely in Holland. It was taken on May 20th, 1974 and is presented courtesy of Willem VanMaanen's collection

This ship was built in West Germany. Her keel was laid in July of 1966, launched during February of 1967 and she finally entered service during April of that year as (a) Bernhard Oldendorff. A great deal of her time under this name was spent flying the flag of Panama. In April of 1989 she was sold, renamed (b) Savoydean III and re-registered in Vanuatu. Her career under this name though ws to be short and by July 8, 1991, she was laid up at Inchon, South Korea. This lay up lasted until September 9, 1992 when she was finally sold for scrapping in China.
