She was built in Japan and operated as Esso Albany for the Exxon Group, USA and Esso International, Holland until 1993. At that time she was sold to Italian opeators who applied the name Franca D then Franca D'Alesio shortly thereafter. In June of 2000 she was sold to Cambodian interests and renamed Franca.
