The 1983-built, 23,443-dwt, 14,169-grt, "Friendship" class bulk carrier Agamemnon is seen in this photograph while she was underway in the Welland Canal during the morning hours of August 2nd, 1999. She was about to depart the canal and enter Lake Ontario which is the first of five lakes in the North American Great Lakes system. Photo by Jeff Cameron.

She was built in Tokyo, Japan by Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and she she entered service as Agamemnon for the Faros Shipping Company, Greece. When this picture was added to the archives in 12/2002 she was still operational as Agamemnon for Inirain Shipping Company Ltd.
