She was built in Emden, Germany by Rheinstahl Nordseewerke and she entered service in 1958 as Anita Thyssen. She sailed as such until 1969 when she was sold to Karaiskakis Cia. Nav. S.A., Greece and renamed Nortrans Unity. This name lasted until 1975 when her owners renamed the ship Aegis Unity. By 1978 though her career was at an end. On July 2nd, 1978 she arrived at Kaohsiung, Taiwan and on August 1st, workers from the Chin Tai Steel Enterprises Company Ltd. began dismatling the ship for scrap.
